The Presbyterian Church in America

Hope Presbyterian Church is privileged to be a member of a denomination called the Presbyterian Church in America. Presbyterianism is an historic religious tradition with roots in the 16th Century Protestant Reformation, especially as the Reformation came to expression in Scotland. Presbyterians have been a part of the American religious patchwork since the Colonial Period. The Presbyterian Church in America began in 1973 as an offshoot of what was then commonly called the Southern Presbyterian Church, or PCUS. Today the PCA extends throughout our country, and includes over 1,200 churches with over 300,000 members. Hope warmly embraces our connection with our denomination, whose motto, True to the Scriptures, The Reformed Faith and the Great Commission, succinctly captures our commitments. You can visit the PCA Website at www.pcanet.org.
